Description
Schirmeck Castle was built in the early 13th century and destroyed by the Swedes in 1633 during the Thirty Years' War. In 1705, the French considered rebuilding it, but abandoned the project and, in 1778, the church tower was built using materials from the castle... This tour will take you to the site of this former fortification, from where you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of Schirmeck and the surrounding area.
