ChâteauXperience
Description

At the foot of the Fleckenstein ruins, ChâteauXperience opens a new window onto the medieval past of the Northern Vosges and the Palatinate. Much more than a simple introduction to fortified architecture, this interactive space helps visitors understand how castles have shaped the identity and history of this region located between France and Germany.
Through an immersive journey featuring images, sound, and interactive experiences, visitors of all ages are invited to step back in time. It’s an opportunity to discover the reasons behind the construction of so many fortresses in this area, the methods used to build them, the daily lives of their occupants, and the events that led to their demise. This exploration also places Fleckenstein within the political and historical context of the Holy Roman Empire, to which the region was once linked.
