In the near future, the Earth has been ravaged by a great war between man and the powerful machines he created. Knowing that mankind is doomed, a scientist creates 9 small, fragile and defenseless creatures from various objects picked up in the rubble. Unable to stand up to the machines, they formed a small community surviving day by day in the rubble. But the latest addition to the family, Number 9, has a mission. He holds the key to their survival, and will have to convince his comrades to leave their makeshift refuge and venture into the heart of the machine kingdom. What they discover along the way may be mankind's last hope.
