Les Amis de la Léonardsau et du Cercle St Léonard - Annual meeting and Conference

Les Amis de la Léonardsau et du Cercle de Saint-Léonard hold their annual general meeting at 7pm, followed by Vincent Wackenheim's lecture 'Joseph Kaspar Sattler, un esprit agité' at 8pm.

A high-flying draughtsman, Joseph Kaspar Kasttler, who came to teach at the recently founded École des Arts Décoratifs in 1891, is considered a precursor of Jugendstyl. Whimsical and often little-known in Alsace, he participated in the creation and life of the Cercle de Saint-Léonard, producing such major works as "Les images de la guerre des paysans (1893)", the "Danse macabre moderne (1894)" and "Les Anabaptistes (1895)".

Vincent Wackenheim is a publisher, literary critic and author, notably of "Joseph Kaspar Sattler ou la tentation de l'os".
