A man suddenly reappears after four years of wandering, a period for which he offers no explanation to his brother who has come to find him. They leave for Los Angeles to pick up the son of the former missing man, with whom he travels to Texas in search of Jane, the child's mother. A quest into the unknown and a mutual discovery unite these two people with tormented pasts.
